We’re thrilled to report on the significant progress made during our recent course maintenance closures at both El Cardonal and The Dunes Course. These essential closures allowed our dedicated agronomy team to complete a comprehensive range of projects, all designed to enhance the beauty, playability, and sustainability of our world-class golf courses.
The closure of El Cardonal was a resounding success, with our team tackling a variety of key initiatives. All turf surfaces across the course were meticulously aerified and verticut, processes crucial for improving turf health, promoting deeper root growth, and ensuring optimal drainage.
In addition, significant upgrades were made to our irrigation system. New irrigation lines have been successfully installed around the bunkers on holes 6, 17, and 18, ensuring more precise and efficient watering in these critical areas. Furthermore, new irrigation was also installed on hole 4, contributing to overall course health and water conservation efforts.
The Dunes Course Continues to Shine
The Dunes Course also underwent a maintenance closure from June 1–7, during which our team focused on a series of improvements. The ongoing cart path project continued to progress on holes 3, 5, and 6, enhancing the flow and aesthetics of these areas.
Our agronomy team also aerified all collars, a vital step in maintaining healthy turf around the greens. Bunker edges were meticulously repaired, ensuring consistent and fair playing conditions. Finally, to address any areas needing a little extra care, plugs were planted in weak areas on the fairways, promoting lush and even turf throughout the course.
