Golf Course Maintenance Update

Summer Projects Update

We are continually striving to keep our courses in peak condition, and summer brings a dedicated window to execute critical turf maintenance and infrastructure improvements. Here is a look at what our agronomy team is working on across the property.

El Cardonal

El Cardonal is currently closed for summer aerification and is scheduled to reopen on Thursday, August 20th.

Beyond our standard aerifying, verticutting, and topdressing process—which relieves soil compaction and promotes healthier root growth—we are maximizing this closure window to tackle several major course improvement projects:

    • Drainage Improvements: Installing new drainage infrastructure to better manage water flow and improve turf recovery.
    • Irrigation Efficiency: Relocating select sprinkler heads to optimize coverage, eliminate dry spots, and conserve water.
    • Bunker Refresh: Replacing the sand across bunkers to ensure consistent playing conditions and crisp visuals.

Dunes Course

While play continues on The Dunes, our team is executing focused enhancements:

    • Weed Mitigation: Continuing an aggressive program to manage and eliminate weed populations.
    • Bunker Edging: Re-establishing sharp edges along all bunker complexes for better definition and playability.
    • Irrigation Upgrades: Moving quick-coupler connections for more efficient hand-watering and localized turf care

Oasis Short Course

On the Oasis Course, our focus remains on green health and overall landscape refinement:

  • Turf Health: Advancing target weed control treatments on both greens and collars.
  • Greens Performance: Fine-tuning cultural practices to refine surface smoothness, speed, and overall playability.
  • Landscape Maintenance: Cleaning up and detailing surrounding landscape beds to enhance aesthetic framing around the course.

Thank you for your patience and support as we complete these essential projects. We look forward to welcoming you back onto El Cardonal on August 20th.
