Golf Course: Summer Maintenance Update

Course Maintenance Update: Summer Projects Underway

With our first major aerification of the season officially wrapping up, the golf course maintenance teams are shifting focus to an extensive list of summer improvement projects. These targeted agronomic and infrastructural enhancements are designed to elevate overall playability and ensure our turf remains resilient through the peak summer months.

Here is a look at what our crews are tackling across the property:

El Cardonal

  • Targeted Irrigation Enhancements: We are installing mist irrigation systems around select bunkers and mounding to better manage moisture levels and maintain crisp, healthy turf coverage on these architectural features.
  • Bunker Refurbishment: Crews are actively sieving the sand in the bunkers to remove debris and contamination, followed by the addition of fresh sand where needed to ensure consistent playing conditions.
  • Drainage Infrastructure: A new drainage installation is planned on Hole 5 to improve water management and maintain firm, dry surfaces in key playing areas.

Dunes Course

  • Hand-Watering Efficiency: We are installing new quick-coupler valves in the fairways, allowing our team to hand-water localized dry spots more efficiently and precisely.
  • Irrigation Audit: Our comprehensive irrigation system audit continues, fine-tuning water distribution uniformity and maximizing efficiency across the entire layout.
  • Cart Path Turf Recovery: The team is continuing the installation of a specialized sod mat along the cart paths, a proven method to protect and reestablish healthy, high-traffic turf.
  • Bunker Detailing: Edging crews are working across the course to reestablish clean, sharp, and well-defined bunker borders.

Oasis Short Course

  • Weed & Turf Management: Our targeted herbicide program remains ongoing to eliminate competing weed species, paired with aggressive sodding of any damaged turf areas to ensure seamless, vibrant coverage.

These summer months provide the critical window needed to execute these disruptive but vital projects. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as our teams work hard to keep all 48 holes in world-class condition.
